Patrick Mahomes' wife Brittany has her say as Chiefs QB unveils Texas Tech's first-ever 'Team Mahomes' NIL deals

Patrick Mahomes made history by partnering with Adidas to sign six Texas Tech players to NIL contracts. He has formed their very first 'Team Mahomes.' Multiple student-athletes will come together for marketing campaigns, endorsing the Kansas City Chiefs star's line with the brand.

While Mahomes proudly presented 'Team Mahomes,' Brittany Mahomes was quick to cheer the group on.

While talking to Sports Illustrated, Mahomes praised the Adidas-Texas Tech tie-up.

“The energy around this partnership has been incredible, and this announcement shows just how important this is to me, Adidas and Texas Tech,” Mahomes said.

Mahomes said that he worked with Adidas to select the athletes that could work best with their team, and they have much more in store for the Red Raiders.

Who did Patrick Mahomes sign to the lucrative NIL deals?

  • Micah Hudson: freshman wide receiver
  • NiJaree Canady: USA Softball Collegiate Player of the Year
  • Matthew Comegys: Golfer
  • Sam Courtwright: Freshman of the Year in 2023
  • Jasmine Shavers: Basketball player
  • TJ Pompey: Freshman All-American

Furthermore, Brittany and Patrick Mahomes also made the headlines for donating a whopping $5 million to Texas Tech. Looking to help the university build its largest facility yet, this is part of its $240 million South End Zone and Dustin R Womble Football project.

A NIL deal could have extended Patrick Mahomes' stay at Texas Tech

In seven years in the NFL, Patrick Mahomes has cemented his worth as one of the best QBs in history. The Texas Tech graduate has three Super Bowls and hopes to pull off a three-peat with the Kansas City Chiefs.

However, a NIL deal could have altered his NFL timeline completely. After all, it's a way for student-athletes to earn more early on.

“It would have been a good amount of money, especially for Lubbock, Texas. If I would have been able to get NIL, I probably would have stayed for my senior year and who knows what the rest of my NFL history would have been?”

Despite being one of the greatest quarterbacks, one cannot predict his future, especially if the Chiefs draft him.
