Patrick Mahomes' wife did not know he was a QB
Patrick Mahomes and his wife Brittany are probably NFL's dream couple. Together since high school, they have shared every milestone together. This week, the couple welcomed home their second child: Patrick “Bronze” Lavon Mahomes III.
Fans have been pouring in with well wishes and happiness for the young couple.
Despite their long history, Brittany was not always aware of Mahomes' talent, or that he even played football, even though Brittany herself was an athlete.
During a 2020 interview, she spoke about the same and how she was completely unaware about Patrick Mahomes' skills on the field. She recalled:
“When we started dating, I had no idea he was even good at sports....The quarterback had graduated, and I was talking to [Patrick] like, ‘So, who’s going to be our quarterback?’ And he was like, ‘Well I think I’m going to try out.’ I was like, ‘Wait, you play quarterback?’”
She added:
“He ended up going to Texas Tech, and that’s when it really hit me, ‘Oh sh*t, he might go play professional football," Brittany added. "It was surreal to see him living his dream and seeing him grow as an athlete and as a man in general was just amazing.”
Mahomes ended up leaving college in his final year for the 2017 NFL Draft, while Brittany graduated with a degree in kinesiology.
Since then, Patrick Mahomes has been playing and impressing everyone as the Kansas City Chiefs QB.
Brittany and Patrick Mahomes shared the first photo of their infant son online
Like they did when Sterling was born, Brittany and Patrick shared an adorable photo of their son. This time too, there was a jewelry piece with their son's name written on it.
"Patrick “Bronze” Lavon Mahomes III 🤴🏽11/28/22 7lbs 8oz 🤍," they wrote on social media.
Fans and followers have been in sync with Brittany's journey online, with the couple sharing every detail from the first announcement to the gender reveal.
Looking forward, this might just be another amazing season for the Chiefs star. Not only did Patrick Mahomes become a father for the second time, the Chiefs also won against the Los Angeles Rams (26-10) on Sunday.
Interestingly, fans had already begun speculating about Brittany's due date, wondering if she went into labor after not live tweeting a Chiefs game vs Rams online. While she denied those speculations, Bronze was born shortly after.
Apparently, it was Sterling who kept her occupied. Considering how their older daughter has finally started attending games, Bronze is sure to make an appearance in a few months or so.
