"Peace without Aaron Rodgers": NFL fans react as ex-Jets HC Robert Saleh says he is “living the dream" after dismissal

Following a 2-3 start to the 2024 NFL season, the New York Jets decided to fire coach Robert Saleh. Saleh was in his fourth season as head coach for the Jets, but after another struggling start to the season, the team made the deicision to move on from him.

Prior to the 2021 season, Saleh signed a five-year deal to be New York's coach. He finished with losing seasons in each of the three full seasons he coached, as the Jets finished 4-13, 7-10, and 7-10.

Saleh was spotted in New Jersey this week for the first time since his firing. He was seen grocery shopping at a Whole Foods grocery store.

When asked by a TMZ reporter how he's doing following his firing from the Jets, Saleh responded by saying that he's "living the dream." He also replied "God willing" to the photographer when asked if he would be seen on an NFL sideline soon.

Upon hearing Saleh speak briefly for the first time since his firing, fans responded saying that they'd feel peace too after being away from Aaron Rodgers and the Jets. Other fans pointed out how annoying it is for the paparazzi to be following Saleh around while invading his privacy.

Here's how fans reacted to Robert Saleh saying he is "living the dream," after being dismissed from the New York Jets:

"Getting away from Aaron Rodgers does wonders to the soul. Just ask his family," one fan said.
"Let the guy live man, get out of his face," a fan wrote.
"Leave this man alone. What is wrong with you," a fan questioned.

While fans pointed out how Saleh is getting swarmed and his privacy invaded by the heckling TMZ, others pointed out that depsite being fired, he is in a good position.

Fans pointed out that Saleh will make millions over the next few years while being unemployed.

Here's how other fans reacted:

"I would be living the dream too if I was getting his unemployment salary that’s he’s about to make," a fan said.
"Getting paid millions to not work for the New York Jets is indeed living the dream," one fan said.
"This man is quite literally living the dream. $20K a day?" a fan said.

Will Davante Adams help out the New York Jets going forward?

The New York Jets have made some big moves in the last week. First they fired Robert Saleh, then promoted Jeff Ulbrich to head coach, before acquiring Davante Adams from the Las Vegas Raiders on Tuesday.

Adams will be going from one 2-4 team to another as he comes over to New York from Las Vegas.

The Jets haven't played terribly this season, they just haven't been able to close out games. Three of their four losses have been one score games, and the team is still getting used to Aaron Rodgers under center.

Adding Davante Adams to the offense could certainly help as he is still regarded as a top-10 wide recevier in the NFL and a good friend of Rodgers. It should also allow more opportunities for receivers such as Garrett Wilson and Allen Lazard, who will have less attention focused on them with the prescence of Adams.
