Peyton Manning’s former center compares 2024 Chiefs to prime-era Tom Brady’s Patriots in specific “nightmare” fashion

Before the Chiefs ruled the world, Peyton Manning and Tom Brady's teams had impressive abilities. Brady's unit, however, became perennially known for adapting on a game-by-game or even half-by-half basis.

The goal for this was to attack opponents' weaknesses and force them to play left-handed. For the last half-decade, no other team could match the flexibility of Bill Belichick's unit. That is, until now.

On Wednesday's edition of "Get Up," Manning's former center, Jeff Saturday, compared Patrick Mahomes' Chiefs to the old Patriots.

[00:06:13] "It gives me chills and a bit of a nightmare because this is the New England Patriots motto and model for success," Saturday said. "And I remember playing for the Colts for all those years, and they were our nemesis, and we had some massive games against them, and they morphed into whoever they had to be.
"If they needed to be a three-down front, a four-down front, be at five down front (they would be). And they would change, and they would they would morph from the first half to the second half."

Of course, this may be the best explanation yet, as the Chiefs continue to stack up wins faster than everyone while failing to be better than everyone in any team category.

Based on their makeup, seemingly at least one team should have been able to exploit the team's 14th-ranked passing defense (per ESPN analytics) to sneak out a win. Instead, the Chiefs keep rolling.

Chiefs on deck to face arguably toughest opponent yet

While many praise the Denver Broncos for all but the final play of their showdown against Patrick Mahomes last Sunday, Kansas City Chiefs fans can argue that it was a trap game as they prepare for this week's opponent.

Josh Allen stands in Buffalo, waiting to face his biggest rival in one of the premier rivalries of the AFC. Some fans may even go so far as to call it the biggest rivalry of the generation.

Allen's touchdown-interception ratio trumps Mahomes, but he is still looking to avenge his most recent loss. In January, Mahomes and Allen battled in the playoffs, and the Bills quarterback came up short. Will a motivated Josh Allen ruin Patrick Mahomes' perfect season?
