Philadelphia Eagles ‘monitoring situation' as longtime sideline reporter faces harassment allegations: Report
Howard Eskin, a reputed longtime Philadelphia sports broadcaster, has reportedly been suspended from covering games at Citizens Bank Park for the rest of the season. As per Pro Football Talk, the Philadelphia Eagles are also monitoring Eskin's situation and could make a decision regarding him.
Eskin works as a sideline reporter for the team’s radio broadcasts, and the Eagles franchise is in contact with the reporter's employee, i.e., Audacy.
Earlier this year, Howard Eskin allegedly made an unwanted advance toward a female Aramark employee and gave her an unwelcome kiss at the Philadelphia Phillies' ballpark. The MLB franchise conducted a thorough investigation and, after consulting with Audacy and Aramark, supported Audacy's decision to suspend Eskin.
There's a high possibility that Audacy might not allow Howard Eskin to cover the Eagles this upcoming season and may take more disciplinary action in the future.
Philadelphia Eagles 2024 season preview
The Philadelphia Eagles are coming off a very disappointing season. The franchise lost six of their last seven games to finish their season and The Tampa Bay Buccaneers defeated them in the NFC Wildcard Round.
However, the Eagles addressed their issues in the offseason, unlike the Dallas Cowboys, and are now the favorites to win the NFC East. Jalen Hurts, who played through injuries last year, will be fully healthy, and the franchise also added star running back Saquon Barkley to help their quarterback.
General manager Howie Roseman drafted Quinyon Mitchell and Cooper DeJean to bolster their secondary, which was their biggest weakness last year. They also secured new long-term deals with DeVonta Smith and A.J. Brown this offseason and are well-positioned to contend for the Super Bowl.
Moreover, since they didn't win their division last year, the Eagles will have a fairly easier schedule this year. Due to this, there is a great possibility that they will finish as the first seed in the NFC, and Jalen Hurts will have a great chance of winning the first MVP award of his career. It will be interesting to see the growth of their quarterback as a leader since both Jason Kelce and Fletcher Cox retired this offseason.
