PHOTOS: Patrick Mahomes, wife Brittany channel inner Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift for singer's Eras-themed birthday party
Patrick Mahomes and his wife Brittany are easily one of the most recognizable couples in the NFL currently. However, there is another arguably more famous pairing that they can only emulate.
On Wednesday, Taylor Swift concluded her 35th birthday with a star-studded party appropriately themed after her record-breaking Eras Tour. The Kansas City Chiefs' star quarterback showed up wearing a very recognizable outfit - the black tuxedo that tight end Travis Kelce wore during his cameo at the London leg of the tour.
Brittany, for her part, wore a sequin dress evocative of one of the multi-platinum pop singer's many tour outfits under a jacket.
Brittany posted a couple of pictures of him and Patrick at the party on her Instagram.
Based on the photos, it looks like Patrick Mahomes got the look of his Chiefs teammate spot on, top hat and all.
Patrick Mahomes shouts out wife Brittany while discussing injury rehab
Patrick Mahomes' last game, a win at the Cleveland Browns, did come with a major cost, as he hurt his ankle on a low hit by defensive tackle Dalvin Tomlinson and had to be retired from the gamer for Carson Wentz.
During his postgame presser, he mentioned Brittany when discussing his rehab plans:
“First, we did a little bit when we got back and kind of got ourselves ready even on the plane. Then yesterday, I was just here (at the Chiefs’ facility) pretty much all day. When you want to get out there and play and give yourself the best chance, you have to spend the time here," Mahomes said per the Kansas City Star.
“Luckily, I have a great wife (Brittany Mahomes) who will take care of the kids when I’m up in the building for 12 hours or whatever it is.”
Coat that Patrick Mahomes' wife Brittany wore to Browns game was customized under a time crunch, says designer
Speaking of major cost, his wife Brittany was spotted wearing a Prada puffer coat worth $3,150 (per Prada's website) with the Chiefs wordmark in gray attached to the back and a Mahomes patch in the left lower pocket.
However, according to Danielle Becker, founder and CEO of Lefty's Right Mind, the entire process - from initial conceptualization all the way to crafting and delivery - turned into a 48-hour "whirlwind" involving Brittany's personal stylist Margot Zamet, as she told PEOPLE:
"The concept came together within one hour — between an Uber ride and a train into the city. I went for a classic varsity jacket style but with a tonal holiday aesthetic. By the time I reached Grand Central, the design was finalized and off to the embroiderer."
Even the positioning of the patches was a "game-time decision"; Brittany did not want to lose the Prada tags.
