Pics: Kirk Cousins' wife Julie recaps experience from Falcons QB's revenge game vs Vikings
Kirk Cousins, who played with the Minnesota Vikings from 2018-2023, faced his former team on Sunday at U.S. Bank Stadium. Despite the Atlanta Falcons' 42-21 loss, Falcons veteran quarterback's wife, Julie Cousins, shared her gratitude on Instagram after the game.
Expressing heartfelt thanks to the Minnesota community for their warm welcome, Mrs. Cousins wrote:
"Overwhelmed with gratitude after 3 days back in Minnesota...Thank you to everyone who welcomed us and made us feel special!"
Alongside, she posted a series of memorable snaps from the game day. Out of all the nine photos, the best picture was the one where Julie and Kirk were seen with their two sons, Cooper and Turner. They all were dressed in cozy outfits in the backdrop of the stadium.
In one of the pictures, Julie was also seen posing with Minnesota Vikings QB Nick Mullens' wife, Haleigh, and Minnesota Vikings long snapper, Andrew DePaola's wife, Amy.
Kirk Cousins, who was drafted by the Washington Redskins in 2012 had a significant tenure in his NFL career with the Minnesota Vikings. During his stint, he started 88 games, threw for 23,265 yards, and led the team to two playoff appearances.
On Sunday, Cousins’ homecoming was emotional, however, he failed to dominate the game. It was the Vikings starting QB, Sam Darnold, who completely shone bright. He threw a career-high five TD passes and a 157.9 passer rating.
Kirk Cousins is facing backlash after his comments on Falcons’ fourth-quarter collapse surfaced
Following the Atlanta Falcons' loss to the Minnesota Vikings, Kirk Cousins seemed caught off guard by his former team's sudden surge. In his postgame comments, the QB admitted being blindsided by the 14-point swing because the Falcons’ offense was thrown off balance after the Vikings encashed a fumble recovery to score consecutive TDs.
"I was encouraged when it was 21-21 [after three quarters]. Felt good about it, but, you know, the next time we got the ball back it was 35-21 and had a little different tenor to the game at that point.”
While Kirk Cousins was speaking about the mere shift in the game’s momentum, his comments were misinterpreted.
NFL fans thought he was taking a jab at the defense and special teams units, who had allowed the Vikings to seize control late in the game.
