"Politics is an absolute sham" - Aaron Rodgers proposes overhaul in presidential nomination based on Packers playbook

New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers is proposing an overhaul in presidential nominations. On Sunday, Joe Biden stepped down as the democratic nominee and endorsed his vice president, Kamala Harris.

While speaking on the "Pardon My Take" podcast, the Jets quarterback shared his thoughts on some changes he would like to see. Rodgers thinks the United States should adopt a policy similar to the Packers, where once you turn 70, you must retire and cannot run.

“Politics, I’ve said from the beginning, it’s an absolute sham. If we’ve seen anything, whether its about what they did to Bernie Sanders in 2016 or the pedesty emails or the fact that nothing ever changes," Rodgers said on Pardon My Take.
“How about some common sense in politics. Like, let’s not let anybody over 70 [run]. The Packers have a rule – at 70, you gotta retire. That seems to make pretty good sense.”

A common complaint from people is that both presidential candidates are old, and young people never get an opportunity to run.

Aaron Rodgers was linked to being VP for RFK Jr.

Aaron Rodgers has been a supporter of RFK Jr. and was linked to being his VP for his campaign. However, the Jets quarterback decided to turn down the offer, as he wanted to continue playing in the NFL.

“There were really two options. Retire and be his VP or keep playing. I wanted to keep playing,” Rodgers said (via CNN).

By not being RFK Jr.'s VP, Rodgers will remain the starting quarterback for the New York Jets.

Aaron Rodgers is coming off a torn Achilles suffered just four snaps into the 2023 season, causing him to miss the entire year. He now enters 2024 healthy as he looks to lead the Jets to a Super Bowl.

New York has the 11th-best odds of winning the Super Bowl at +2000, according to DraftKings, which implies a 4.8% chance of it happening.

The Jets open their 2024 season on the road against the San Francisco 49ers.
