Puka Nacua injury update: Should fantasy managers be worried about Rams WR?

LA Rams wide receiver Puka Nacua took the NFL by storm last season, breaking a 63-year-old record for the most receiving yards by a rookie set by Bill Groman (1,473 yards) in 1960.

He caught 105 passes, breaking the rookie record for the most receptions in a season. After this remarkable season, the BYU product is one of the most intriguing candidates for fantasy managers.

However, a knee issue could have prevented him from lining up for the Rams in Week 1 of the 2024 season. Here is what managers interested in Nacua should know about the second-year wideout.

Should fantasy managers be worried about Puka Nacua?

Fantasy managers and Rams fans have nothing to worry about regarding Nacua. He is expected to go 13th overall in ESPN fantasy drafts and is rostered by 99.8% of the teams. Barring an extraordinary event, all those teams will have Nacua available for Week 1. Having Cooper Kupp by his side decreased his numbers last season, but the receiver remains a menace to opposing defenses.

The Rams will start the season with a wild card round rematch against the Detroit Lions at Ford Field. After exceeding expectations last campaign, largely due to Nacua's fierce career start, the Rams would love to be as competitive as last year, especially after the 49ers and Seahawks made moves that made them the most serious candidates to win the NFC West division.

LA had a dynamic offense last season with Nacua, Kupp and Kyren Williams.

Puka Nacua's injury update

On Thursday, LA Rams coach Sean McVay said Nacua is practicing fully after dealing with a knee issue.

"He'll be ready to roll," McVay said (via NFL insider Ian Rapoport).

In prior weeks, Nacua wasn't a full participant in practice after suffering a bursa sac injury in his knee. It was unclear if he would be fully fit to take on the Lions on Sept. 8.

Nacua returned to practice on Monday, and three days later, there's no doubt he'll be ready to take on one of the best teams in the NFC last season.

Puka Nacua finished his rookie campaign with 105 receptions, 1,486 yards and six touchdowns.
