Raiders HC Antonio Pierce refuses to entertain Davante Adams trade rumors
Will Davante Adams be traded before the 2024 NFL trade deadline? All signs are pointing to the star wideout leaving the Las Vegas Raiders and being traded to a new team before the deadline expires on Nov. 5 at 4:00 p.m. ET.
As the trade deadline nears, rumors and speculation about the Raiders' star wide receiver have heated up.
With specualtion of there being a trade involving Davante Adams, Raiders head coach Antonio Pierce was asked to comment on the Adams situation. He dodged the question, saying he's focused on the Denver Broncos and that trade talks are handled upstairs by management.
Pierce said:
"That's handled on the third floor, I'm focused on the Broncos."
A clip of Adams talking about wanting to be traded has surfaced on Twitter today. Adams was asked if he would be interested in catching passes from his old quarterback in Green Bay, Aaron Rodgers.
Adams said:
"Yes, I would love that. You know I'm a first-team all-troll. Don't take nothing serious, but I would love to have that and obviously that would be a dream scenario. Anything you see on Twitter, that's not the tale of anything, that's just wishful thinking and messing around."
Aaron Rodgers comments on potential reunion with Davante Adams
While Davante Adams likes the idea of reuniting with his former quarterback, Aaron Rodgers, the feeling is mutual.
Rodgers and Adams had a ton of success with each other in Green Bay from 2014-2021. Fast forward to 2024, and the two have a chance to play together in the Big Apple.
Rodgers said via the team's press conference on Friday:
"I don't know how much I can say about it. There's tampering. I still have a close friendship with him. We spend time in the offseason together. He's a great guy, a great player, and the rest is out of my hands."
Rodgers then gave Adams the advice the grass is greener where you water it and that he shouldn't be afraid of joining a place where he ultimately wants to be.
He continued:
"Yeah, I mean, the grass is green where you water it. There's the fear-mongering that goes along with the adage that the grass is not always greener on the other side. But the grass is green where you water it."
As the days go by, it seems more likely that Davante Adams won't be a Raider for too long.
Do you think Adams will get reunited with Rodgers in New York?
