Raiders insider reveals where consensus puts 2025 NFL Draft prospect Shedeur Sanders in Caleb Williams, Jayden Daniels, Bo Nix's class
It's December, which means we now have more than a fair idea of which teams are firmly in the running for the playoffs and which teams will have to start looking forward to the 2025 NFL Draft class.
Heading into Week 14, the top order of the draft is beginning to take shape. The Jacksonville Jaguars, Las Vegas Raiders and New York Giants make up the top three in the list with the New England Patriots, Carolina Panthers and New York Jets to follow.
The order could still see a little bit of a shake but there are two teams in desperate need of a quarterback in that group - the Raiders and the Giants. Colorado's Shedeur Sanders and Miami's Cam Ward have been billed as two of the top quarterbacks in the 2025 class but it remains to be seen where each QB lands.
Six quarterbacks were selected in the first round last year - Caleb Williams, Jayden Daniels, Drake Maye, Michael Penix Jr, J.J. McCarthy and Bo Nix - tying a historic mark. The 2025 class is nowhere near as strong as this one but according to Raiders insider Vincent Bonsignore, some within the league believe Sanders is more than equipped to battle it out with the top three QBs in last year's draft.
During a QnA session on social media platform X, Bonsignore was asked where he would place Sanders and Ward in last year's draft,
"I've asked that of a few people in the NFL. Consensus on Sanders is No. 4 behind Maye," Bonsignore wrote.
2025 Mock Draft. NFL expert sees Shedeur Sanders take over struggling franchise
Sportskeeda's resident NFL Draft expert Tony Pauline has a few predictions for the upcoming draft. Given how the Giants parted ways with Daniel Jones, allowing him to walk to Minnesota, it appears more than likely that they will move for the first QB on the board.
Pauline noted that it doesn't matter if GM Joe Schoen is at the helm or if Brian Daboll is still head coach, if the Giants have the second overall pick, they will lean towards Shedeur Sanders.
Pauline has Cam Ward landing with Miami as the third overall pick, though it all depends on which of these teams lands the higher pick once the season is officially done.
