Rams star Cooper Kupp recalls "worst date night" with wife Anna
Los Angeles Rams star Cooper Kupp has been married to wife Anna Kupp since 2015. Being married for so long, the couple have had their share of bad dates. During Monday's episode of their "Daily Grind" podcast, the wide receiver recalled his "worst date night" with Anna.
It came during the offseason of 2018 when the couple went to one of their favorite restaurants. However, little did they know that it would become one of their worst experiences. Sharing the details, Kupp said:
"It was the offseason of 2018, heading into 2019, we have probably our worst date night by standards of human beings that you could possibly have. We're at one of our favorite restaurants, coursing menu, tasting menu, we ended up getting into a discussion that is very serious, and they just keep piling up food for the tasting." "We're not eating it because we're talking, and eventually, we just see, like, you guys just need to box all this stuff up. And it was probably the— worst-case scenario, we're really diving into something just again. We're not clicking on something. We can't get through to this place, and we end up leaving there, and from halfway through that meal until the next day before we talked again, drove all the way home together," the Rams wide receiver added.
Kupp said that it was the last time the couple did something like that.
The podcast is a new venture that the couple started, to share the behind-the-scenes of their life.
Cooper Kupp hard-launches "Daily Grind" podcast with wife Anna Marie
Before getting into the regular season, Rams star Kupp started a podcast on YouTube with his wife Anna Marie, in the last week of June. During the premiere episode, the wide receiver shared the intent behind the podcast.
“This is an opportunity for us to sit down and really have some meaningful conversations," Kupp said.
Kupp has also launched another business venture — a coffee shop. The NFL couple collaborated to launch Dodo Coffee, with a brick-and-mortar store in Arkansas. The couple found the podcast a great opportunity to promote their coffee shop.
Kupp was drafted by the Los Angeles Rams in Round 3 of the 2017 NFL Draft as the 69th overall pick.
The 2023 season was quite tame for the wide receiver in terms of performance. Compared to the 2022 season's 812 rushing yards, Kupp only had 737. As for receptions, it went down to 59 from 75 in 2022. The wide receiver will be looking forward to getting back on track with his performance.
