Rashee Rice's mother charged after allegedly stealing from neighbor's porch: Report

Marsha Kearney, the mother of Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Rashee Rice, has been charged after she allegedly stole from a neighbor's porch. A video went viral of Kearney taking an item on September 29.

Kearney was wearing a Chiefs No. 4 jersey that said Momma-Rice on the back. Following the video going viral, Kearney ended up turning herself into the Tarrant County Sherriff's Office a week later, on Oct. 15.

Marsha Kearney has now been charged with one count of mail theft, according to TMZ. She's expected to appear before a judge in late November.

It's also not the first time Kearney has faced legal trouble. According to TMZ, earlier this year, she was hit with a criminal charge over claims she took a bunch of household items from a man. However, the case ended up getting dismissed in June, after she completed some unspecified conditions.

Kansas City Chiefs star receiver Rashee Rice is likely done for the season with a knee injury.

Luckily, Rice didn't tear his ACL, but Chiefs coach Andy Reid said it's likely the same timeframe-wise for a comeback as a torn ACL.

"His surgery was not his ACL, it was the posterolateral corner, there was damage there," Reid said, via SI. "It's probably the same result, though, as you'd get time-wise for an ACL. It takes a while for that to come back. He'll get into his rehab and get rolling on that as we go here."

NFL Insider Ian Rapoport, meanwhile, confirmed Rice didn't need any surgery on his ACL but is likely done for the season.

"He's going to have surgery [Oct. 8], and the expectation is that his ACL will not need to be reconstructed. His PCL also likely okay," Rapoport said. "That means a much shorter recovery for Rashee Rice. That is good news as it pertains to his long-term prospects, but immediately, what is important for the Kansas City Chiefs is that Rashee Rice has likely played his last down for the Chiefs this season."

Before the injury, Rice has 24 receptions for 288 yards and two touchdowns.
