Rob Gronkowski mercilessly roasts Zach Wilson with outrageous ‘parent-teacher conference’ shot at Jets star
Recently retired NFL tight end Rob Gronkowski has begun working with FOX Sports on their Sunday pre-game show. During one of his segments, analysts in the studio gave Gronkowski situations where he had to say if the glass was half-empty or half-full.
When asked about the New York Jets' recent success, Gronkowski said that it was half-full. He then gave a hilarious response that roasted second-year quarterback Zach Wilson:
"I'm going to go half-full, as long as they can get their qb's head in the playbook instead of outside at parent-teacher conferences."
Rob Gronkowski's response was a jab at Wilson and the rumors that plagued him this past summer. The rumors were started by his ex-girlfriend, who insinuated that Wilson had an affair with one of his mom's friends.
FOX NFL pre-game host Charissa Thompson took her own jab by saying the following:
"I think we all know what you're talking about there. I think the report card read 'plays well with others.'"
Wilson and the New York Jets were able to pull off a 20-17 win over the Buffalo Bills on Sunday. Wilson went 18 of 25 for 154 yards and one touchdown. The Jets are now right in the mix for the AFC East division with the Bills and the Miami Dolphins, all of whom have six wins. The New England Patriots are just one game behind with five wins.
Travis Kelce ties Rob Gronkowski's record
Rob Gronkowski is clearly one of the best tight ends to ever play in the NFL. The four-time Super Bowl champion and four-time All Pro has set the bar high for other tight ends. He has also brought attention to the importance of a position that is sometimes overlooked.
If anyone were to follow in his footsteps, it would be none other than Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce. As of Sunday night, Kelce is now tied with Gronkowski for 32 career games with at least 100 receiving yards. This is the most for a tight end in NFL history.
Travis Kelce now has the most games with at least 100 receiving yards since 2016 with 30. We will see if he can overtake Rob Gronkowski in the coming weeks, and based on his season thus far, it won't take long.
