Rob Gronkowski's joke about Bill Belichick's alleged 24-year-old date goes viral
Now that there are reports swirling that Bill Belichick is in a relationship with a 24-year-old, a certain Rob Gronkowski joke from Tom Brady's Netflix roast is becoming viral. The event featured some great punchlines, but the ones that caught the attention earlier were related to Robert Kraft and Gisele Bundchen.
But at the same time, Rob Gronkowski had taken aim at his former coach, saying,
“Coach, you used to talk about Foxborough High School when we sucked. But now I know why you were so obsessed with Foxborough High School: you were scouting your new girlfriend.”
At that instant, the joke had seemed like a simple dig at Bill Belichick's tactics but it could indicate that the inner circle already knew about his girlfriend.
Is Rob Gronkowski's relationship with Bill Belichick strong enough that he would know about his new girlfriend?
A question people might ask is whether Rob Gronkowski was throwing a shot in the dark after having seen Jordon Hudson, who is the 24-year-old being linked to Bill Belichick, hanging out with the coach.
Many have speculated that his relationship with the coach broke down after he chose to come out of retirement and join Tom Brady and the Buccaneers, instead of the Patriots. That Rob Gronkowski helped the quarterback win a Super Bowl ring there only helped burnish Brady's legacy and outshine Bill Belichick, in comparison.
But it is probably not true that the camaraderie between the tight end and the coach had broken down. Gronk had previously said (via 247Sports):
“It’s always been a great relationship actually, and I’m super blessed just to have the nine years that I had there, big time... But I would say the relationship’s fine.
"I mean, I really haven’t talked to (Belichick) at all since I’ve been traded to the Tampa Bay Bucs, but if I see him, you know, in the streets, if I see him out at an event, a football event, wherever it is, a charity event, I have absolutely no problem with him.”
So, it is more likely that Rob Gronkowski knew about Bill Belichick's alleged new girlfriend. And as he joked about it on a public forum, this might indicate that Gronk knew the rumored couple were willing to go more public in the near future.
