Russell Wilson hails wife Ciara as his 'strength in every struggle' as power couple celebrate 8 years together

Russell Wilson and Ciara completed eight years together, and on Saturday, the couple celebrated their wedding anniversary. The Pittsburgh Steelers star quarterback took to his X (formerly referred to as Twitter) to share a heartwarming note for his wife.

The Steelers quarterback praised Ciara, calling her his "strength" in all the trials of life. Expressing his emotions about Ciara, Wilson said:

"Celebrating 8 years of God’s love & grace over us @Ciara! Since we met, you’ve been my strength in every trial. My joy in every moment. My peace in every prayer. God blessed me with the most incredible gift in you! I am so grateful for our journey together. Here’s to a lifetime more. I love you, Mrs. Wilson, to Heaven & back!"

Russell Wilson and Ciara met in May 2015 for the first time during a Wisconsin basketball game. A month after that, the two made their first public appearance together while attending the correspondents' dinner at the White House.

One year after making their first public appearance, the two got engaged in March 2016. In July 2016, Wilson and Ciara tied the knot at Peckforton Castle in Cheshire, England. The NFL couple is parents to four kids.

Russell Wilson revealed key details about his marriage during an interview with Essence Magazine.

"When I asked her to marry me, once she said yes, I said, ‘Before we go do this, can we pray? I want to make sure we always put God at the center of it all," Wilson said.
"And so I think the thing that hopefully exudes from our love is that listen, love is never perfect. But we continue to try to put God first and pray over each other."

Before her eighth anniversary, Russell Wilson's wife, Ciara, enjoyed Disneyland in Paris with her kids. Ciara shared an Instagram post recapping her Disneyland visit, featuring the most memorable pictures. The Instagram post came two days before she celebrated her "last day of breastfeeding" on Twitter.
