Recently a clip of the San Francisco 49ers' rookie dinner bill went viral on social media. The clip showed that the 49ers rookies had a bill of around $300K for the dinner, and everyone was stunned by it.
Rookie dinners are a tradition in the NFL, but the amount on the bill blew everyone's mind. Nevertheless, 49ers star defensive end Arik Armstead has clarified the whole situation.

"Y’all silly if you thought a dinner can cost 300k . It was a prank. The waitress went overboard . The dinner was 7500 me and 2 other vets gave 1k towards it . The rooks split 4500. We had a great time too. I had good vets as a young player I would never do a rookie like that."

The veteran DE made sure that the rookies on his team were not in trouble because of the bill that they had to pay to please their veterans.
The 49ers have a pretty close-knit squad and it was evident by what Arik Armstead said about the event. The rookie that has been balling the most for the San Francisco 49ers is quarterback Brock Purdy. He came in to replace Jimmy Garoppolo and so far has done a great job in leading the team.
