Saquon Barkley drops 9-word reaction to Ja’Marr Chase’s electric 70-yard TD
Ja'Marr Chase is helping the Cincinnati Bengals finally get back on their feet. After a terrible 1-3 start to the season, fans were ready to press the panic button on the team. And in Week 5, they were up against the second-best team in their division. The odds were against the Bengals.
In the fourth quarter, the Bengals were trailing 31-35. They had secured an early lead in the game, but the Baltimore Ravens had wiped it out and managed to take the lead themselves.
Just then, Ja'Marr Chase secured an important touchdown for the team. With less than nine minutes left on the clock in the fourth quarter, Bengals QB, Joe Burrow, passed the ball to Chase. And he made a run for the goal line.
Ravens defenders failed to stop him as the 24-year-old raced with the ball and secured a touchdown for his team. This changed the score to 38-35, with the Bengals leading by 3 points.
It was such an impressive feat that Saquon Barkley, the Eagles' newest RB, took to X (formerly, Twitter) to give him props. The Eagles are currently on their bye week.
"Jamar (sic) chase is really good at this football thing"
Ja’Marr Chase committed to team despite no extension
The star WR held out the entire training camp practice sessions in the hopes that he would get a contract extension from his team. But as the date for the start of the 2024 season neared, the Bengals did not seem to move towards a resolution.
The Bengals, historically, have been reluctant to sign extensions while a season is in swing. But unlike Haason Reddick, he did not bail on his team and decided to put the team before his own interests.
Speaking about the offseason drama and his hold out, the 24-year-old said:
"All this BS that was going on this offseason and prior to the season, I'm just happy that it's over with. I'm finally playing ball and having fun with the guys. That's what matters most for me."
The Bengals really couldn’t afford to miss out on their best wideout not playing, as even with him partnering up with Joe Burrow, the team has only managed a 1-4 start to the season after their Week 5 loss to the Ravens.
In the upcoming week, the Bengals are up against the New York Giants. Will Ja’Marr Chase and Joe Burrow manage to turn around the team’s fortunes?
