Simone Biles hypes up husband Jonathan Owens for Bears' SNF showdown vs Texans

The Chicago Bears went up against the Houston Texans on Sunday Night Football in what was rookie quarterback Caleb Williams' first primetime game since being picked first overall in the 2024 NFL Draft. The Texans eventually got the better of the Bears in a modest 19-13 win as serial Olympics winner Simone Biles looked on to catch her husband Jonathan Owens in action.

Owens didn't see too much action as the Bears succumbed to defeat to end Week 2 with a 1-1 record. However, Biles made sure to pay her husband one major compliment as he arrived for the franchise's first primetime game of the season.

"He put that s**t onnnnnnnnn," Biles wrote on Instagram over a picture of Jonathan Owens' outfit for Sunday Night Football.

How Jonathan Owens managed to convince Bears to make a trip to Paris Olympics

Biles snapped up four medals at the recently concluded Paris Olympics, three of which were gold. The world's most decorated gymnast made some uncharacteristic errors but it was a pretty successful trip to France for Biles.

She also had the support of her husband Owens, who made the move from the Green Bay Packers to the Chicago Bears in the offseason.

While Biles was adding to her medal tally in Paris, the expectation was that Owens would not make it all the way to France to lend his support to her quest. However, the Bears eventually gave Owens some time off from training camp to go cheer his wife on at the Olympics. In a recent interview, Owens opened up on how he made that work with the franchise.

"I told my agent. I was like, 'Just put it in people’s ear so you know you walk around with people in the building and like you know the Olympics,' just kind of putting the bug in and then my agent, he was talking to somebody upstairs, just letting them know and having conversation,” Owens said.

The Bears eventually relented and asked Owens which days he would need to excuse himself from training.

“They basically asked me what days did I want to miss and I gave them, I said the 29th or the 3rd (August). I said these are the two finals that I want to be able to check out and they ended up like 'both dates are fine,'” Owens added.
