Simone Biles reveals NFL player she admires the most after husband Jonathan Owens
For the wives and girlfriends of most NFL players, their partners are generally the football athletes they most admire. However, that's not the case with Chicago Bears star Jonathan Owens' wife Simone Biles. Instead of Owens, it's a Chiefs star that the Olympic gymnast admires the most.
During Thursday's episode of Not Just Football with Cam Heyward podcast, Simone Biles picked Patrick Mahomes over her husband Jonathan Owens. While Biles did praise Owens for being an outstanding idol for the upcoming generation, the Olympic gymnast also noted:
"I mean, besides my husband, because he's broken down stigmas that aren't typical — like he's D2, undrafted, in year seven in the league — which is so good for kids to see, especially when he hosts his football camps. But I really think we always go back to Patrick Mahomes." (46:53)
“A freak of nature — how does he always pull it out? It's like the Chiefs could be down, and he's just a miracle worker. He'd probably kill me for saying that or admitting it, at least,” Biles added.
Even though Simone Biles picked Patrick Mahomes over her husband Jonathan Owens, that doesn’t question how much the two care for each other. As a symbol of love, Biles recently got herself a tattoo of Owens' initials on her ring finger.
Later, in an interview, the Olympic gymnast revealed the actual reason behind getting inked.
Simone Biles revealed real reason behind getting husband Jonathan Owens' tattoo
Last month, Simone Biles got Jonathan Owens' initials tattooed on her ring finger. Later, during an interview with Access Hollywood, Biles opened up about her decision. The Olympics gymnast noted how the Bears’ safety has a similar tattoo on his ring finger.
"It's very sentimental and he also has an 'S' on his ring finger as just an ode to me," said Simone Biles. "He loves me so much and I love him and I knew that it would be such a big surprise. I actually called him the other day because we tattooed in Arizona after the show literally two days ago." (4:50)
"I wanted to surprise him because he already got his and I kept telling him, 'No, I'm not doing it'. So, he actually woke up in the middle of the night and I had just landed in San Francisco and he was like, 'I am going to cry,'" Biles added.
Biles' tattoo came almost a month after she won three gold medals in the Paris Olympics. Despite his practice camps, Jonathan Owens visited Paris to cheer for Biles. In an interview last month, Owens opened up about convincing the Bears to grant him leave for the Olympics.
