Simone Biles reveals why she and Taylor Swift haven't struck up a friendship at NFL games
Simone Biles and Taylor Swift haven't been spotted together in an NFL game, especially ever since Travis Kelce started dating the Blank Space singer. When asked about the same from the Olympic gymnast, she came forward with a logical explanation.
Simone Biles sat in an exclusive interview with Access Hollywood on Wednesday while she promoted the new season of her Netflix documentary "Simone Biles Rising." During the interview, Biles was asked about the possibility of bonding with Taylor Swift at Chiefs vs. Bears games.
"I’m currently on tour so unfortunately not. I’ve missed a lot of games. But as soon as we finish tour, then yes. But you usually don’t bond with opponents," Simone Biles said. (2:54)
In the new season of her documentary, Simone Biles took a stand for her husband Jonathan Owens for his "catch" comment last year. Hitting back at fans for trolling the Bears star, the athlete said (via PageSix):
“Who’s going to go to somebody’s (social media) profile and say who you can and can’t love? That’s just ridiculous. They equate our love to the amount of trophies and medals and accolades that I have, and that’s not how you measure love. That doesn’t equate to how much my husband loves me or likes me."
"Most of the time, they don’t understand the mental toll that it takes, especially going into an Olympic year. I know we signed up to be judged in the gym, but when you guys are going to talk about him or my family, yeah, I’m gonna come at you guys," Biles added.
Simone Biles commented on competing with Jonathan Owens at Olympics 2028
With flag football expected to make its debut at the 2028 Olympics in Los Angeles, Simone Biles is excited about the possibility of making an appearance with husband Jonathan Owens. Opening up about the same during an interview with USA Today earlier this week, Biles said:
"I think it'd be very interesting. I think it'd be a lot of fun," Biles said. "I know that my husband and his teammates have talked a lot about it, if they're going to do it. But it's a lot of sacrifice."
"It's in the summer, right when they start training camp, so I know it'd be really tough on their body just because of how long their season is. But they're very excited about it, and they're enticed. So we'll see," Biles added.
While Simone Biles has been busy with Athleta’s Gold Over Golden American tour, Jonathan Owens has been training for the upcoming Week 8 game against the Washington Commanders.
