Simone Biles shows off custom Jonathan Owens goodies ahead of Bears safety's Thanksgiving game
The Chicago Bears' Jonathan Owens is set to play on Thanksgiving against the Detroit Lions, and his wife Simone Biles already has some post-game treats planned. On Wednesday, the multiple-time Olympic gold medalist gymnast went to her Instagram Stories to share a picture of various cookies that she had commissioned.
While a majority of the cookies highlight her and her gymnastics career, two of them feature the Chicago Bears safety's No. 36 jersey:
In an exclusive interview with Us Weekly released on Wednesday, she further expounded on her Thanksgiving plans:
“I’ll fly up in the morning (to Detroit) and fly right back (to Chicago)... We’ll just have a chef come and cook. I think some of his teammates will come through and grab a plate, especially if they don’t have family in the area.
"(The chef) will already be at the house cooking (by the time we arrive.) (The food) will be prepared by the time we get home."
Biles also revealed that she and Owens were close to finally moving into their mansion in Houston:
“At this point, we’ve waited so long for it to be built, we’ll just wait until after the season to move in... We should be closing fairly soon. I go in two weeks to check on it again to see where we are. But we’re literally almost there.”
Jonathan Owens discusses enjoying life with Simone Biles
The Jonathan Owens-Simone Biles relationship has been one of the most star-studded in recent NFL history. And it reached its climax in April 2023, when the two finally got married.
Since then, they have spent their lives in the Great Lakes, where the entire NFC North is based. First, it was in Green Bay; now they are in Chicago.
The safety sat down with Cassie Carlson, sports correspondent for Fox's Chicago affiliate WFLD for an interview released on Tuesday. Among the things discussed was how life with his gymnast wife was. He said (skip to 7:10 in the video below):
"It's amazing. I love playing in front of my wife, because she knows she's going to hold me to the highest standard, so it keeps me on my toes always... It's just been great, just to be able to be married."
The Bears-Lions game kicks off at 12:30 pm on CBS.
