Skip Bayless blasts Kyle Shanahan for robbing Tom Brady of 49ers ‘Cinderella’ moment – “That’s how he came to love football...”

Tom Brady lived outside of the San Francisco Bay area his whole life as he grew up in San Mateo, California. Growing up as a football fan, it's every kid's dream to be the quarterback for their home city when they grow up if they play in the NFL.

Brady had the opportunity to become a 49er, not only once but twice, but Kyle Shanahan and the 49ers weren't interested.

Undisputed analyst, Skip Bayless talked about how Shanahan and the 49ers turned Brady down. Bayless said:

"The point is, that he grew up idolizing Joe Montana Dwight Clark, The Catch game that ended the Cowboys dynasty and launched the 49er dynasty, that's what he grew up on. That's how he came to love football was through that team.
"So obviously, after all he acheived, the dynasty that he built in New England, you would think that he would say hey, I wanna go finish there, and they said, no.
"And then this past off-season he once again after he won a Super Bowl and then obviously they lost to the Rams in the playoffs, but he had Bruce Arians, we know the whole story and he was momentarily free again and he quote on quote retired for about 15 minutes.
"The point was in that period of time he went back to the (49ers) again and said, hey I'm available even for maybe a year or two to close this thing out. And you interested? No, we're not interested."
"The biggest, most underplayed story in sports right now is that the Shanahans said no twice to Tom Brady."

The 49ers are 8-4 and are in first place in the NFC West and seem to be a playoff team. The Buccaneers are 6-6 and are fighting each week to stay atop the NFC South.

Sunday's showdown between the two teams will be a good game for many different reasons, with the most important being another step closer to the playoffs for the winner.
