"Potential Super Bowl team" - Skip Bayless cautiously backs Cowboys for Lombardi glory following statement win against Eagles

Dallas Cowboys fans are taking their victory laps this week after handing the Philadelphia Eagles their second defeat of the season. However, speaking on Undisputed, mega fan Skip Bayless stopped short of expressing full confidence in the team. Here's how he put it:

"I do believe my biggest take away from this game is that my [team is] going to have a very happy new year. I believe they made a statement that said we are a potential, I'm not saying they're going to the Super Bowl, but that we are a potential Super Bowl team because we have firepower and legitimate star power that has arrived."

Dallas exited the contest at 11-4, locking in at least an 11-6 record to wrap up the year.

After Dak Prescott's latest 40-burger, will defenses brace for a continued offensive onslaught?

Unlike their matchup earlier this year, the Eagles faced Dallas in AT&T Stadium with their backup quarterback Gardner Minshew. They barely missed a step, leading many to take their own personal viewpoint of the game.

Some have doubted the Cowboys for failing to shut down Minshew, but others have praised the backup quarterback for answering the call.

Coming into the game, Minshew had a 4:1 touchdown-interception ratio, giving plenty of cause to believe he could put up good numbers. Minshew completed 60 percent of his passes for 355 yards, two touchdowns, and two interceptions in the game. His offense put up 34 points.

Meanwhile, Dallas put up 40 points with the help of Ezekiel Elliot, Tony Pollard, and CeeDee Lamb. Dak Prescott threw for three touchdowns and one interception. He completed 77 percent of his throws for 347 yards.

After falling into a 10-0 hole, the team rallied until the game became a back-and-forth affair. At the half, Philadelphia led 20-17. Heading into the fourth quarter, the game was tied at 27. However, a late Eagles turnover set the stage for the Cowboys to take the final lead of the contest.

With many fans, including Skip Bayless, taking a lot of confidence from the win, it will be interesting to see if the Cowboys can go deep into the payoffs this season.
