Skip Bayless names AFC hotshot who he prefers over Patrick Mahomes- "Don't trust him at the playoff level"

Patrick Mahomes is the frontrunner in this season's MVP race and is likely to win. Many consider him the best quarterback in the NFL because of all the accolades and stats that he has put up in such a short span of time.

Despite Mahomes' success, Skip Bayless isn't sold on him. He still believes that Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow is better than the Chiefs star.

Here's what Skip Bayless said about picking Joe Burrow over Patrick Mahomes as the better quarterback:

"There's something about the way Joe Burrow operates that I trust at the playoff level, and I don't trust Mahomes at the playoff level. And I remind you in that one Super Bowl that they did win late third quarter, he throws it to San Francisco early fourth quarter."

Bayless added:

"He turns right around the next series, and he throws it to San Francisco. … I don't know, again, I'm nitpicking here, but I'll take Joe Burrow for the duration and I believe I will win more games and more championships than you."

Joe Burrow has beaten Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs on three straight occasions. The Cincinnati Bengals ended the Chiefs' hopes of making it to their third straight Super Bowl last season.

Until Mahomes gets the better of Burrow and the Bengals, it is highly unlikely that Skip Bayless will believe that he is the best quarterback in the league.

After losing Tyreek Hill to the Miami Dolphins, some thought Mahomes wouldn't be as good this season and his numbers would regress. However, that hasn't been the case as the Chiefs quarterback is on the verge of making history with his stats and winning the second MVP of his career.

He still has a lot to prove come playoff time, and Joe Burrow will be the biggest challenge. Patrick Mahomes has already beaten Josh Allen and the Buffallo Bills a couple of times in the playoffs, but he still hasn't defeated the Bengals.

The Kansas City Chiefs will be aiming to reach their third Super Bowl in the Mahomes era, but it will be tough for them considering the level of competition in the AFC. The Chiefs and Bengals will likely face each other in the playoffs this year, and it will be interesting to see which quarterback comes out on top.
