Cooper Rush gives Cowboys better chance of beating Eagles than Dak Prescott, claims Skip Bayless
Dallas Cowboys quarterback Cooper Rush is set to make his fifth straight start of the season this Sunday. The Cowboys will face their division rivals, the Philadelphia Eagles in their next contest.
Rush has been the starting quarterback for the Cowboys since Dak Prescott went down with a fractured thumb in Week 1. Rush has been near-perfect, filling in for Prescott.
Ahead of Sunday Night's showdown, Skip Bayless spoke on Undisputed about the upcoming matchup between the Dallas Cowboys and Philadelphia Eagles.
"I believe that their offense is way better than my offense in general because Cooper Rush has made miracles with a way below average supporting cast. My receivers that you have little to no respect for are graded 25th in the league by Pro Football Focus. My rushing attack that everybody says is vaunted.
"They're going to try to run the ball down the green Eagles throat. No they can't, because they can't, they're not good enough. In yards per carry, my team ranks 22nd in the National Football League. Your quarterback is going to have to throw the football to win the game."
Bayless added that Rush has had just as good of a season as Jalen Hurts. The analyst also thinks that the Cowboys have a better chance of beating the Eagles with Rush as quarterback than Prescott in that position.
"I believe that Cooper Rush gives me a little better chance of winning this game than Dak Prescott does. I believe that Cooper Rush is very quietly off radar, [but] just as hot as Jalen Hurts has been. So I believe that Cooper Rush can make just as many key plays in his throws as Jalen can. I believe he can offset Jalen Hurts, that's what I believe.
"He can keep me in the game and I believe whatever is required of him [he can do]. If 35 points are required, he is capable. Sorry, he's done everything he has been asked to do under fire in the clutch. All he does is produce play after pay. I keep asking you across the table, what's wrong with him? Where are his fatal flaws? Is it inaccuracy? No. Is it velocity? No."
Cooper Rush is 4-0 as a starter but faces the 5-0 Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday
Cooper Rush has been exceptional for Dallas in place of Prescott. Since Prescott was sidelined, Rush has gone on to win all four games he's started this season and is 5-0 as a starter.
He's picked up victories over the Cincinnati Bengals, New York Giants, Washington Commanders, and Los Angeles Rams. He's thrown for 839 yards, four touchdowns, and no interceptions.
Sunday will be Rush's biggest test as they face the undefeated Philadelphia Eagles. The winner of the game will be first in the NFC East.
