Skip Bayless thinks Jerry Jones needs make way for 'his Kamala Harris' for Cowboys to win a Super Bowl
Jerry Jones has been at the helm of the Cowboys for more than three decades. Under his leadership, the Cowboys generated renewed interest and went to new heights with their on-field performances. However, longtime Cowboys fan and NFL analyst Skip Bayless makes a case for Jones to hang up his cleats now.
Jones has been the de facto leader of the Dallas Cowboys since he purchased the team in 1989. For the past 35 years, he has been the owner, president and the GM of the franchise. Three out of five of the Cowboys’ Super Bowl wins have come under Jerry Jones.
However, as the football world keeps evolving, the 81-year-old must walk away, lest he becomes a dinosaur in the NFL world, argues Skip Bayless. On Thursday, Bayless took to his podcast to make the case.
The NFL analyst and the Cowboys fan wants Jones to take a cue from President Joe Biden and step aside for his Kamala Harris.
“I think it's time for Jerry to step aside in favor of his Kamala, his son, Stephen Jones," said Bayless. “It's time Jerry. You know it, and I know it. Yep, I'm talking about the same team, the same Dallas Cowboys that I saw that two ESPN analysts picked to win this year's Super Bowl.
“The same team that I saw two USA Today national experts picked to at least get to this year's NFC Championship game for the first time in almost 30 years. The same team whose quarterback in two Madden simulations was projected to be this year's MVP of the NFL, that same team I'm saying, eight and nine, miss the playoffs.”
Bayless seems to have lost all faith in the leadership of Jerry Jones. He wants the current executive vice president and the CEO of Cowboys and Jones’ son, Stephen, to take charge.
Player selection of Jerry Jones gets called out by Skip Bayless
Bayless, apart from targeting Jones’ executive decision-making, also pointed out the holes in the current roster. During his rant against Jerry Jones and the Cowboys, an emotional Bayless did not leave out QB Dak Prescott from the criticism.
“I'll be that bad guy from the movie Taken," said Bayless. "Liam Neeson is not going to save this year's Dallas Cowboys. Do you remember what CeeDee's mom posted after that playoff nightmare? 'Dak. isn't it!' He's not it. I've been saying this. Tell me I'm wrong.”
Bayless also called Micah Parsons “overrated” and expressed that the Cowboys have only one "baller" in the form of CeeDee Lamb at present on the roster.
