“Sky is the limit”: Patrick Mahomes remains confident in Marquise Brown's ability to boost Chiefs' 2024 performance
Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs are on the cusp of achieving something in the NFL that has never been done previously. With a three-peat in their sights, the Chiefs have added another weapon to their arsenal, and the quarterback is letting the world know.
The Chiefs signed Marquise Brown to a one-year, $11 million deal as a free agent. 'Hollywood' Brown demonstrated his skills with the Arizona Cardinals over two seasons and is now a part of the Chiefs as they head toward possible unprecedented glory. On Saturday, Mahomes talked to the media about Brown:
“He can run those over the middle routes. He can run really good [shorter] routes and he can run deep. It’s not like fast is the only thing that he can do and you’ve seen that kind of really kind of transpire over these last few days of practice and he keeps getting better and better.” (Time stamp: 8:32)
Mahomes further highlighted that with a WR room brimming with talent, the Chiefs can achieve anything:
“You just see the speed that we have and how it’s opening up everybody and then even seeing Rashee [Rice] and how he’s taken that next step. It is a great group that all mesh well together and so I’m excited for their future. The sky is the limit.” (Time stamp: 08:46)
Patrick Mahomes is igniting the fire in his WRs
Patrick Mahomes understands that there is a lot to fight for this season, and he wants his offensive partners to be in top shape. On Tuesday, before the preseason camp, Mahomes told the media that he is pushing another addition to the roster, Xavier Worthy.
"There's no easing,” Mahomes said as per Charles Goldman. “He's going to have to be ready to go. There's a lot of competition. Xavier got a lot of mental work in these last few weeks he had during OTAs and minicamp, but it's time to go now.”
The same applies to Marquise Brown, and Patrick Mahomes will not stop pushing him either.
