"Somebody talk to me" - Odell Beckham Jr. sends message to NFL teams as fans speculate WR's future
Free agent wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. is still without an NFL team. After tearing his ACL in the Los Angeles Rams' Super Bowl win over the Cincinnati Bengals in 2021, the receiver has been in rehab mode.
Thought to be ready to return to the field last season, Beckham Jr. was courted by the Dallas Cowboys... and heavily. But nothing came from it and now the receiver put out a tweet on franchise tag deadline day wanting teams to talk to him.
"4pm deadline!! Somebody talk to me im feelin đđžy!"đđ.
Now, this might seem odd to some. Beckham Jr. is a free agent so he can essentially sign with a team when he wants (although it is likely to happen once the new league year starts on March 15).
However, if we look a little deeper, is this a subtle hint to the Dallas Cowboys that OBJ wants to play in Frisco?
How you say?
Well, fellow receiver DeAndre Hopkins has been in Dallas with former Cowboy Dez Bryant as the pair workout together. With Cowboys fans being very loud in their desire for Hopkins, the receiver who was live on social media with Bryant said, "Talk to me."
Just like Odell Beckham Jr. did. Coincidence? Possibly, but the receiver is putting himself out there in the hopes of a team signing him.
Where could Odell Beckham Jr. land in 2023?
For most fans, when it comes to which teams has a realistic shot at landing Odell Beckham Jr., all roads seem to lead to Frisco and The Star.
Dallas wants to get more receiver help for CeeDee Lamb as he was, at times last year, a one-man show. While it felt like Dallas was 'close' to signing Beckham Jr. last year, nothing eventuated and now there could be a chance to return to the negotiating table.
However, with Hopkins also in the picture, the 'all-in' thought that the Cowboys had for Beckham Jr. might be subsiding a touch.
Both are star receivers, but which way will Dallas go in its attempts to give Dak Prescott another weapon?
Other teams in the Buffalo Bills and even the Los Angeles Rams are thought to be interested, but these Odell Beckham Jr. to Dallas links don't seem to go away.
