Steelers legend Bill Cowher tasks Russell Wilson with setting major NFL record

The Pittsburgh Steelers have won six Super Bowls, an NFL record, and former coach Bill Cowher is daring quarterback Russell Wilson to win the franchise's seventh.

The franchise's success has been measured by Lombardi trophies. In the 1970's they won four Super Bowls, putting together a dynasty full of Hall of Famers. In the 2000s era, the Steelers added two more Super Bowls under Cowher and current head coach, Mike Tomlin. They have six Super Bowls, tied for an NFL record with the New England Patriots.

The Steelers are one of the best teams in football right now with a 10-3 record. They are currently the third seed in the AFC and are atop the AFC North division.

Speaking to Wilson in a one-on-one recent interview with CBS, Cowher finished the interview by telling Wilson to add another Super Bowl victory to the historic franchise.

"Your leadership your genuineness. Your passion your love for the game. Resonates in this building resonates in this city. Go get number 7,” Cowher said.

Wilson is up for the challenge, as he said:

"Let's go get number seven baby. Yes sir, it is a pleasure, coach."

Wilson has experience winning Super Bowls. He has been to two Super Bowls in his career, helping lead the Seattle Seahawks to back-to-back appearances, winning Super Bowl XLVIII and losing Super Bowl XLIX.

The AFC has two juggernauts right now: the Kansas City Chiefs and the Buffalo Bills. Each team has two of the best quarterbacks in the NFL: Patrick Mahomes and Josh Allen.

The Chiefs are 12-1 while the Bills are 10-3, with a win over the Chiefs. Allen has played like an MVP, scoring six touchdowns in the team's loss to the Rams last week.

The Steelers are the conference's third seed, with a 10-3 record. The Steelers' toughness and defense, which ranks in the top five in several crucial statistics, have carried them, as they always do. Their three losses have been to the Dallas Cowboys, the Indianapolis Colts and the Cleveland Browns.

The Steelers were without Russell Wilson to begin the season, but they still achieved success (3-0 with Justin Fields). Even with Wilson, the Steelers have enjoyed success, going 6-1.

The Steelers will face the Chiefs on Christmas Day and will be tested against one of the two juggernauts in the conference.
