Stefon Diggs to Cowboys? Texans WR leaves door open to joining younger brother Trevon in the future

The Buffalo Bills traded Stefon Diggs to the Houston Texans earlier this offseason. The star wide receiver played the last four seasons in Buffalo and had immense success with quarterback Josh Allen. Diggs has made the Pro Bowl four times in his career and is expected to have similar success with his new QB, C.J. Stroud.

During the end of his tenure with the Bills, Diggs was frequently linked with a move to the Dallas Cowboys. The driving force behind these rumors was Trevon Diggs, Stefon's younger brother, who plays for the NFC East franchise.

In a recent video with GQ, Diggs spoke about the potential of playing with his brother in Dallas. He said:

“Maybe one day, you never know, but no time soon, son. As a kid, we were like five years apart, so, I always wanted to play with my little brother. He’s healed up from injury, so, my guy’s ready to play. Still pulling for him.”

As evident by his comments, Stefon Diggs is fully focused on playing for the Houston Texans. The AFC South franchise is a Super Bowl contender this year, and the star wide receiver will have a big role on the team.

Diggs has played 14 playoff games in his career, and his experience will be beneficial for a young Texans team. The former Bills star has lost to the Kansas City Chiefs three times in the playoffs, but now on a new team, he could finally get past Patrick Mahomes and play in his first Super Bowl.

After getting traded to the Texans, Diggs signed a one-year, $22.52 million restructured contract. In 2022, he had signed a four-year, $96 million contract extension with the Bills.

Based on his current deal, Diggs will be a free agent next year. If things don't work out in Houston this upcoming season, the star wide receiver could easily play for a new team in 2025.

Meanwhile, the Cowboys didn't do much this past offseason, but if franchise quarterback Dak Prescott leaves, they should have enough money to add a receiver like Diggs to their team next year. However, as Diggs mentioned, his full focus is on the Texans for now, and he will hope to win the first Super Bowl of his career this season.

Stefon Diggs will make his Texans debut against the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday. The Texans finished 10-7 last season and are expected to defend their AFC South title.
