Stefon Diggs' ex-teammate picks sides in 'diva' narrative around Texans WR

Stefon Diggs' former Bills teammate Cole Beasley has come out and explained if he thinks the current Texans wide receiver is a 'diva' as some have claimed in the media. Speaking to The Locker Room with Landry Locker, the former Cowboys and Bills offensive star said that every wide receiver who is the primary weapon for their quarterback demands a bit of attention.

Therefore, Cole Beasley does not think that Stefon Diggs is different from his peers in that respect, saying, (Start at 6:12)

"The whole diva thing is like I don't think there is any number one wide receiver who's not. I mean it's like that's everybody, but I don't even think the people know when they're saying that."

Cole Beasley takes issue with the term 'diva' for 'hardest working' Stefon Diggs

Cole Beasley also took issue with the term diva being applied to the current discussion. According to him, divas hate getting their hands dirty, and Stefon Diggs is as far away from that as could be.

Instead, what the former NFL player thinks is that people think that the number one wide receivers are flashy because they are the ones celebrating scoring touchdowns and always demanding the ball. But if that makes Stefon Diggs a diva, his former teammate is perfectly fine with that. He said, (Start at 6:25)

"What that even means, cause to me a diva is like a someone who's scared to get their hands dirty, and Stefon is one of the hardest working players that I've played with…Going back to the diva thing I don't really know what that means but I think about is like they're number one guys, are always pretty flashy, they demand the ball maybe that's why people call it diva but if there's any diva you want to play with its him."

Cole Beasley's comments about Stefon Diggs are certain to make Texans fans happy. With the former Bills receiver being assisted by Nico Collins and Tank Dell, they are not lacking offensive weapons. Dalton Schultz at tight end and Joe Mixon as running back only make them every more fearsome. And tying it all together is current Rookie of the Year, quarterback C.J. Stroud.

The AFC South's reigning champions are likely one of the favorites for the Super Bowl this year because of all the talent they have assembled. And if Cole Beasley is to be believed, a chief reason for their success could be their new wide receiver.
