Stefon Diggs makes feelings known on Josh Allen's shot at MVP crown

Stefon Diggs has shared his thoughts on his former teammate Josh Allen's MVP credentials.

Many contenders have emerged, but a few have been weeded out over the past few weeks. As things stand, Josh Allen, Jared Goff and Saquon Barkley have three of the best cases to be named 2024's NFL MVP, but it remains to be seen what shakes out over the business end of the season.

Allen's case for MVP was strengthened in Week 14 when the Buffalo Bills went up against the Los Angeles Rams. He put the offense on his back, throwing for 342 yards and three touchdowns. He also rushed for 82 yards and three touchdowns, becoming the first NFL player to record three passing and as many rushing TDs in a regular-season game.

This week, Allen's former teammate Stefon Diggs tweeted about the former's MVP case:

"On schedule .... He should, shorty balling fr."

Allen's three passing and three rushing TDs technically made him the second player to register those numbers. Hall of Fame quarterback Otto Graham achieved the feat with the Browns in the 1954 NFL Championship Game against the Lions.

As per NFL dot com, Allen's feat against the Rams means he has joined Michael Vick as the only players with at least three passing touchdowns, two rushing touchdowns, 300 passing yards and 75 rushing yards in a game.

NFL MVP Power Rankings for Week 15

It's difficult to see anyone other than Josh Allen at the top heading into Week 15. While he couldn't marshall the Bills to a win, historic numbers like those go a long way in cementing him as the favorite for the award.

FanDuel's odds have Saquon Barkley in second place, with Lamar Jackson, Jared Goff, Patrick Mahomes and Sam Darnold in tow.

The Bills face the Lions, Patriots, Jets and the Patriots to close the season, so Allen has the best shot at taking home the MVP crown.
