Stefon Diggs proposes shocking career choice with NFL future in limbo

Stefon Diggs was traded from the Minnesota Vikings to the Buffalo Bills in March 2020. The blockbuster trade saw the Vikings send their star receiver to the East coast in exchange for first, fifth and sixth-round picks in the 2020 NFL Draft and an additional fourth-round pick in the 2021 NFL Draft.

Three years after the trade, Stefon Diggs is unhappy again. This time, due to the Bills’ lack of playoff success in recent times. During the Bills’ divisional round loss to the Bengals, the wide receiver was seen yelling at his quarterback, Josh Allen, who had a poor day at the office. He further went on a Twitter rant to vent his frustration about the team and its performance.

Stefon Diggs recently appeared on the season six premiere of Uninterrupted’s “The Shop.” One of the more interesting things he said that caught people's attention was when he assured everyone that if he gave up football and focused on basketball, he would join the NBA. The Bills wide receiver said:

I can really hoop, though. Yeah [I hooped in high school]. If I really put this football shit down and say like, let's dedicate my life to it, I could really do this. A hundred percent [I can go to the NBA]. I could average at least 10.

Diggs is passionate about the game of basketball and this isn’t the first time he has made such comments. Last year, he went on the Stacking The Box podcast and cracked that he’d easily beat his quarterback, Josh Allen, in a game of basketball. Diggs said:

“He can’t beat me at hoops. You guys, get after his comments section. He can’t beat me.”

The Bills wide receiver was recently seen during the Celebrity Basketball Game in Las Vegas. This game saw various NFL stars like Deebo Samuel, Trevon Diggs, Tyreek Hill, and Stefon Diggs to name a few.

Where will Stefon Diggs play in 2023?

Stefon Diggs has been one of the best wide receivers in the NFL. Since getting traded to the Buffalo Bills, he has been on a tear for the past three years. He’s been averaging over 1000 receiving yards. However, with his recent tantrums and tweets, the Bills will have to watch out for another Minnesota-like situation.

During an appearance on “The Shop,” Diggs revealed his frustration with the Buffalo Bills for bottling their chances of winning three Super Bowls, despite having a great team in place.

A potential landing spot for the Bills receiver would be the Dallas Cowboys. Stefon has many times in the past mentioned his love of joining his brother, Trevon, on the same team. This would be the perfect opportunity. With the (potential) addition of Diggs, the Cowboys’ offense would get a huge boost and will be able to make a deep run in the playoffs.

However, the Bills will be looking to do whatever it takes to retain the star receiver. Odell Beckham Jr. is back and healthy. Adam Thielen is on the market. The Bills could go after either of the two (who have a great relationship with Stefon) and pair them together. This move would make the Bills invincible in the AFC division.

We will just have to just sit back and watch as the NFL Free Agency unfolds. This is the NFL, and no blockbuster move should come as a surprise.
