Stephen A Smith picks sides as Aaron Rodgers claps back at Ryan Clark on Pat McAfee show

The ongoing feud between New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers and ESPN analyst Ryan Clark took a new turn when Rodgers appeared on the Pat McAfee Show Tuesday.

The beef started when the analyst called out Rodgers for his weak performances in recent games as the quarterback is not currently at his best. Clark may have gone too far when he called Rodgers a fraud.

The media has not been kind to Rodgers over the last few seasons, even while he delivered MVP performances.

On McAfee's show, Rodgers criticized commentators pointing to Clark, saying that many of them are "highly vaccinated" and influenced by mainstream views, referencing the cultural divide during the COVID-19 pandemic and Rodgers' anti-vaccine stance.

"Now it’s all talk shows and people whose opinions are so important now and they believe they’re the celebrities now."

To which Clark responded with a tweet saying:

"I won’t let Aaron Rodgers’ vax smoke screen distract me from the stench of the tape. He’s entitled to his opinion, but to say you aren’t concerned with what we say is a lie… I mean it’s the reason we are here. It’s a continuation of his hypocrisy that started with criticizing ESPN analyst while being paid to be in ESPN. I analyze football & all things involved. Unfortunately due to his on-field play his commentary has been interesting than the film. BTW. I give my accolades as you asked. Next time say the name so we know you mean it!"

ESPN personality Stephen A. Smith recently urged Rodgers to resolve his ongoing feud with Clark. He suggested instead of getting involved in off-field drama, Rodgers should concentrate on showcasing his abilities on the field. Smith emphasized fans want to see Rodgers' performance and leadership, particularly after his return from injury, rather than getting caught up in public conflicts.

What's Next For the Jets?

The Jets are out of the playoff picture but can still end the season strong and build some positive culture heading into the offseason. It's unclear whether Rodgers will return, even though he says he intends to do so. Receiver Davante Adams can also enter free agency, and the team might opt to reset entirely instead of another season with Rodgers at quarterback.
