Sterling Shepard’s girlfriend Carolyn Moore celebrates boyfriend's reunion with former teammate Baker Mayfield
On Thursday, Sterling Shepard signed a one-year contract with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The contract reunites the wide receiver with Buccaneers quarterback Baker Mayfield. They were teammates at the Oklahoma Sooners in 2014 and 2015.
Shepard's girlfriend, Carolyn Moore, was happy about the reunion. Moore posted an Instagram story to share her excitement about Shepard working with Mayfield. Resharing an old throwback picture of Shepard and Mayfield, Moore wrote:
"Secrets out: baker sterling."
Shepard played for Oklahoma from 2012 to 2015 before getting drafted as the 40th overall pick in the 2nd round of the 2016 NFL draft by the New York Giants. During his eight seasons with the team, Shepard had 23 touchdowns and bagged 4,095 yards and 327 receptions.
After the 2023 NFL season, Shepard decided to part ways with the Giants after battling injuries. Shepard took to his Instagram to share the news with the fans with a dedicated Instagram post.
“Forever grateful to the New York Giants organization, past and present teammates, and the incredible fan base for their unwavering love and support over the past 8 years," Shepard said.
Sterling Shepard shares his thoughts on reuniting with Baker Mayfield
During an interview with the New York Post on Thursday, Sterling Shepard recalled receiving a text from Baker Mayfield. At first, Shepard thought it was just a regular text.
"I got a text from my boy and I just thought it was ‘regular old checking in to see how I was doing’ type of text, because we do that from time to time to each other," Shepard said.
Later, Shepard's agent contacted the front office of Buccaneers, and a deal was finalized. Shepard talked about how even though he wanted to remain with the New York Giants, this was an opportunity that he could not miss.
"I can’t say I wanted to experience that, I always wanted to be a Giant but I’m not mad at it, man. It’s a really good situation, they have a really good football team, really talented football team and I get to be reunited with my boy and get to play with him a little bit," Shepard said.
With the NFL regular season just a few months away, fans would be excited to see Shepard and Mayfield back on the field together again.
