Tee Higgins debuts new nickname for Joe Burrow after viral lunging TD vs. Browns - "F**k Batman, that's Superman"

Tee Higgins debuted a new nickname for Joe Burrow after the two connected for a touchdown for the Bengals against the Browns in Week 16 of the 2024 NFL season. Defeating Cleveland, who are among the worst teams this year, was not a surprise but the throw the Cincinnati quarterback made was out of this world.

Joe Burrow was tackled and was going down as he launched the ball. It was something that seemed scarcely possible and yet he made it happen.

Tee Higgins was all praise for his quarterback and incredulous that he managed to find him in the endzone. He said,

"Looked like Superman when he was throwing it. I’m calling him Superman from this day forward. F**k Batman, that’s Superman."

Joe Burrow asks Bengals to give Tee Higgins new contract

Joe Burrow requested the Bengals to give Tee Higgins a new contract earlier this month. The wide receiver is a free agent at the end of the season and the quarterback said that he will do what he can to achieve that end.

"Those discussions are ongoing. I'm confident that I think we're going to be able to do what it takes to bring Tee [Higgins] back. And I know that I'm gonna do what it takes to get him back and so is he. We've had those talks. So, those are going to be offseason discussions. But I think we're excited about that opportunity."

A touchdown pass to him against the Browns certainly helped the case. However, Joe Burrow made the point that his importance to the team goes beyond the stats. He said that Tee Higgins' presence keeps the opposing defense occupied and frees up space for other offensive weapons. The quarterback added,

"Yeah, you feel his presence when he's out there. You feel his presence. You feel how it affects the defense. You feel how it affects the defensive coordinators' calls. Even if he's not super productive on a night, teams have to worry about him. His presence ... The defense is worried about him. And you feel that."

The Bengals have had a disappointing season and they are unlikely to make the playoffs, even though they are not theoretically eliminated. However, Joe Burrow has made it clear he wants Tee Higgins back as they try again next year. With a pass to him as he was falling down, he has also demonstrated how much he trusts his teammate on the field.
