Tee Higgins' mom unleashes F-bomb-laden rant as NFL fans accuse Bengals WR of 'faking' hamstring injury
Tee Higgins struggled with hamstring issues last season, causing him to miss several games. This season, the same concerns have resurfaced, as the wide receiver was unavailable for the Bengals season opener. While the fans called out Higgins for faking his injury, his mother, Camilla Stewart, went on the offensive for his son.
The Cincinnati Bengals faced the New England Patriots at their home, Paycor Stadium. In a low-scoring affair, the Bengals lost 16-10, and the absence of a volatile wide receiver like Higgins was felt.
Following the loss, Camilla Stewart took to X (formerly Twitter) to fire back at the fans for suggesting that the WR is faking his hamstring injury. She called them out for celebrating the achievements of Tee Higgins but not supporting him during his struggles.
“The same Bengals fans that’s talking shit about my boy are the same ones praising him when score, make it make sense…FYI he can give 2 f**ks about what y’all say or think.”
Several fans suspect that Higgins faked his injury to not participate in the game due to contractual issues. Earlier in the offseason, the team had placed the franchise tag on the 25-year-old. Higgins objected to it initially but signed the deal soon after.
Will Tee Higgins play against the champions?
Tee Higgins has been rumored to be injured since Thursday's practice session. It was later confirmed that Higgins would be missing the game against the Patriots. A reporter from the Cincinnati Enquirer, Kelsey Conway, detailed the issue while shooting down the fake injury rumors on X.
“Tee Higgins isn’t faking an injury, people need to stop with this. He legit tweaked his hamstring in practice. No one understands the importance of being available for games more than Tee, I can assure you that.”
Last year, Higgins injured his hamstring and was out for three games. A month after his return, Higgin re-aggravated his injury against the Kansas City Chiefs. The Bengals are in line to take on the Chiefs yet again in their Week 2 clash on September 15.
