Tee Higgins' mother delivers 1-word reply as Bengals WR gets called out for unavailability

Tee Higgins and the Cincinnati Bengals are living through the most frustrating of the seasons. With the Bengals expected to contend for the AFC North, their season turned out to be a disaster, and at 4-8, their playoff chances are all but over.

There will be many important decisions to be made once the offseason begins. The coaching staff is under extreme pressure at this point, but the roster is set to undergo major changes. One of their key free agents will be Higgins, set to hit the market after getting the franchise tag in 2024.

The wide receiver's mom, however, isn't letting the criticism go. In an X/Twitter post asking whether Cincinnati should move to keep him or Trey Hendrickson, a user stated that he would rather keep the defender due to his availability:

However, after a reply from another Bengals fan, who defended Higgins' injury record and even noted that Joe Burrow also missed plenty of games, her mom appeared in the discussion to agree with her son's defense:

Higgins, the number two receiver on the team, has missed five games this season. He has not played in a full season since his rookie year when the NFL still had 16 games in the regular season.

Tee Higgins' career stats: Bengals WR set to hit free agency after 2024 season

A second-round pick in the 2020 NFL Draft, he established himself as one of Joe Burrow's favorite targets quickly. His partnership with Ja'Marr Chase turned defenses around, as their one-two punch quickly emerged as one of the best in the league.

He has amassed 300 receptions, 4,242 receiving yards and 29 receiving touchdowns over his career. He has also been part of the two Bengals' AFC Championship Game runs, and played in Super Bowl LVI when they were defeated by the Los Angeles Rams.

In 2024, he has 558 receiving yards and five touchdowns, with his volume impacted by the injuries he suffered throughout the season. He had just one game with over 100 receiving yards, against the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 12, one that the Bengals lost.
