"That's all that f**king matters": Travis Kelce addresses comeback after slow start to season
Travis Kelce is facing criticism after his slump in production attracted the attention of NFL analysts and fans. He was on the receiving end of criticism by a former ESPN analyst, Todd McShay, for partying all off-season and letting his relationship with Taylor Swift distract him from football.
His yardage for the first three games of the season was 34, 5, and 30 respectively.
But then he staged a comeback in the Los Angeles Chargers game, recording 89 receiving yards, which was more than the first three games combined. In the latest episode of the New Heights Podcast, the TE addressed his slow start to the season:
"Struggling in terms of stat. I was still playing winning football. And that's all that f**king matters. Everything outside of the building is just noise."
Travis Kelce may not have been able to record stellar personal stats, but going into Week 5, his team is still undefeated.
Taylor Swift helping Travis Kelce learn some important skills, according to Donna Kelce
Unlike what has been alleged about Taylor Swift negatively affecting Travis Kelce, his mother, Donna Kelce, revealed that she has been teaching the TE some important life skills. In an appearance on Extra, Donna said:
"He can’t clean. He can’t cook. He’s getting a little better. I think he’s getting some help."
She also dismissed concerns about the fame and attention he has been getting due to his association with one of the greatest pop stars of our time. She said:
"He’s always been one to be in the limelight. He loves attention. I mean it, he’s always dancing, always joking around, always having fun … he just loves life. It just seems like his life is on a trajectory that just is rising every single day." (1:01)
While his spot in the limelight has attracted a lot of attention, his mother believes not much has changed.
Chiefs fans are hopeful that the Chargers game was not an anomaly and that Travis Kelce's comeback has truly been set into motion.
