"The streets is mad" - Rapper Cam'ron predicts Raiders to fire Antonio Pierce after 2024 season amid struggling form
During last season, Las Vegas Raiders named linebackers coach, Antonio Pierce, their interim head coach when they fired Josh McDaniels. After finishing the rest of the season with a 5-4 record for the 2023 season, the Raiders named Pierce their next head coach on January 19.
However, unlike his success as the interim coach last season, Pierce hasn't quite had the same result since fully taking over as head coach. The Raiders are the only team in the AFC West with a losing record at 2-7 and have one of the worst records in the NFL.
There have been rumblings that Pierce is on the hot seat and that the Raiders could move on from him after just one season. Rapper Cam'Ron, who hosts the "It Is What It Is" podcast alongside fellow rapper, Ma$e, spoke about the chances Piece gets fired this off-season after a down season.
Cam'Ron said:
"No disrespect, because I loved him when he played with the Giants, Antonio Pierce, he may be walking out the door anyway. Whether Deion comes or not, 95% [chance] he's out the door. They not happy with him. The streets is mad, the streets is mad. This is not Oakland and this not Los Angeles, this is Las Vegas they want results quick.
"At the end of the day, I don't think it will be Deion pushing him out, I think he would definitely be out the door whether Deion comes or not."
Why Antonio Pierce could be on the hot seat
It's no secret that Las Vegas Raiders coach Antonio Pierce is on the hot seat and could be out of Las Vegas at the end of the season. Here are a few reasons why:
The Las Vegas Raiders have a disappointing 2-7 record, which is one of the worst in the NFL. This comes after Pierce finished last season 5-4 as Las Vegas' interim head coach.
The Raiders' quarterback situation is still far from being figured out. After not signing or drafting a quarterback this past off-season, the Raiders went into the season with Gardner Minshew and Aidan O'Connell. Minshew entered the season as the starter but got benched after poor play. O'Connell started two games, going 0-2, and was placed on injured reserve with a fractured thumb.
Las Vegas also traded away arguably their best player, wide receiver Davante Adams before the trade deadline. It is a sign that they are still rebuilding and looking to get younger.
Do you think that there is a chance that Antonio Pierce will get fired after this season?
