“These are fake”- Zach Wilson’s mom Lisa calls out a photoshopped passive-aggressive DM from an angry Jets fan
Zach Wilson has had a tough time being the New York Jets quarterback this season. After a decent rookie season, the former BYU quarterback has completely fallen out this season.
He has completely lost the locker room and fans have turned against him as well. Moreover, a fan on social media leaked a DM that they sent to Wilson's mother on her Instagram account in which they revealed that Wilson's mother was claiming the Jets fanbase is terrible.
Wilson's mother clapped back at that viral DM and said:
"These are fake... Merry Christmas"
Fans are doing their best to get rid of Zach Wilson from New York and such photoshopped DMs are likely to bring more attention to hte player. Many believe that the New York Jets are a playoff team and Wilson is holding them back.
Whenever Wilson hasn't played and any other quarterback has filled in for him, the team starts to play well. As a result, the team has benched him. An injury to Mike White gave Wilson another opportunity to redeem himself but he failed to capitalize on it.
Zach Wilson gets placed as QB3 for the Jets
After disappointing performances by Wilson in the absence of Mike White, the New York Jets have now put him on the inactive list. He will be QB3 moving forward as Joe Flacco will be the new backup quarterback behind starting quarterback Mike White.
This is a huge letdown for Wilson, who was the second overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft. He is expected to be let go by the franchise after this season and will look to revive his career elsewhere.
In a draft that was stacked with talented young quarterbacks, it turns out that the Jets have completely wasted the second overall pick. They could have drafted either Justin Fields, Mac Jones, or Trey Lance, but gambled on Wilson, and it could set their franchise back.
They have a team ready to make it to the playoffs and had they had a quality quarterback they could have been very elite. Mike White has shown good signs and it will be interesting to see if he can lead them.
As for Wilson, his career in the NFL is not over yet, but he will be required to deal with a lot of adversity going forward.
