"These are just bulls**t stats" - NFL analyst accuses Aaron Rodgers and Packers of stat-padding late in game vs Bills

The Buffalo Bills didn't have their best game against Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers, but still won comfortably. However, those who didn't watch the game might think the game went differently based on the final box score. Speaking on "Chris Simms Unbuttoned," analyst Chris Simms claimed the box score was designed by Rodgers.

In other words, the analyst accused the quarterback of padding the stats of the offense to make himself look better. Here's how Simms put it:

"At the end of the day, first off, Green Bay has to change. I don't care what anybody says. The stats on this game are so misleading. And even here in some of the postgame press conference [coaches are getting questions] like 'The game was close and that you guys did good things and look at the stats.'"
Aaron Rodgers is a hall of famer, but I’ve never seen a QB blame so much on his teammates. It’s insane. Loved seeing Tony Dungy point it out on SNF.

He continued, writing off the final statsheet:

"I'm going to go, 'These are just bulls**t stats. Other than the rushing stats, everything is kind of bulls**t in the statsheet for the Green Bay Packers. ...' They outgained Buffalo by 20 yards and then not really."
Two guys who all-time miss each other right now: Aaron Rodgers and Davante Adams.

Lastly, he claimed that when it mattered, Aaron Rodgers was incredibly far behind:

"This is to me where context matters and we're going to look back on the end of the year and go, ‘Well, they had a pretty good day against Buffalo’ and you got to go, 'No, they didn't. They had 76 yards when they were down 27 to 10 passing the football. That's just not acceptable. You're not going to get it done.’"

The final score of the contest was 27-17, hinting at a somewhat close affair. Instead, as Simms said, the Packers were behind in every moment that mattered. In the first half, it was 24-7. The Bills coasted in the second half, and the Packers slowly scored twice, narrowing the margin to 27-17 by the end of the game.

Aaron Rodgers threw for 203 yards, two touchdowns and an interception. He completed 19 of 30 throws. Meanwhile, Josh Allen threw for 218 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions and completed 13 of 25 throws. Six completions went to Stefon Diggs, who earned 108 yards and a touchdown.

Aaron Jones led the game on the ground, earning 143 yards on 20 carries. Rodgers and the Packers will hope to avoid a similar situation next week when they face the Detroit Lions.
