“They’d win the division Day One” - Colin Cowherd pressures Derek Carr to skip Saints and head to NFC South rival

After nearly a decade in sunny Oakland and Las Vegas, Derek Carr is on the move. Of course, his destination is anyone's guess, but one early report has given legs to at least one fate. The quarterback visited the New Orleans Saints on Wednesday.

However, on "The Herd with Colin Cowherd," Cowherd condemned the flirtation, pushing the quarterback towards joining their rival instead:

"I think the New Orleans situation is not good for Derek Carr. That one I don't like. A lot of times somebody goes somewhere and you make your own reality. But he and (coach) Frank Reich, Carolina with an agreeable receiver, cap space and a very good defense. That feels like they'd win the division Day One."

Will Jarrett Stidham start a game in 2023?

It took nearly a decade, but the team has finally ripped off the Derek Carr-sized Band-Aid in some fans' eyes. However, the move to cut ties with the quarterback leaves the team in a tricky spot.

Derek Carr to the Saints?

With the AFC West set at quarterback across the division, the Raiders are the only team without a solidified quarterback going into 2023.

As it stands, the team has the seventh pick in the NFL draft and is likely well within range of nabbing a quality prospect at the position. Barring a series of leapfrogs, the team should be able to get at least one of the top prospects.

Meanwhile, Jarrett Stidham is in an odd spot. He showed a lot of flash at the end of the season, but with a small sample size, one can only guess if the quarterback has the chops to lead the team for any length of time. Many are speculating that the team may get a rookie prospect to compete with Stidham and potentially also throw in a veteran as well. Who will lead the Raiders in 2023?

Thank you to all the people reaching out trying to give me their platform to tell my side of what happened. It's the hardest thing in the world not to jump on every interview and tell the whole truth. Thank you but I'm choosing to move on and give our next city our best. 🙏🏼
