“This is not right!” – Eagles star Darius Slay has his say on Texas high school teacher getting decked
Earlier on Saturday, Darius Slay took to Twitter to call out a Texas high school student who punched his teacher in the face over a quarrel.
In a frightening encounter captured on video, a Lamar High School student was seen arguing with a male teacher. The professor apparently took the 15-year-old's phone for some reason, but footage showed the student then landing a flush right hook on the teacher's jaw.
Shocked onlookers screamed as the student went on to throw a few more punches before the video abruptly ended. The video has been doing the rounds on social media and when Slay got a hold of it, he couldn't help but express his concern over the clip.
The Philadelphia Eagles cornerback quote tweeted the horrific video and wrote: "This is not right!".
Many of Slay's followers also agreed with him in the comments. Some showed sympathy for the elderly professor in the video.
The teacher wasn't identified by name and hasn't publicly commented on the incident. However, the shocking increase in student violence against teachers in schools has been grabbing headlines over the past few years.
It's safe to say that Slay is certainly against it.
How did Darius Slay fare in the 2022 season?
Darius Slay had an incredible 2022 season with the Philadelphia Eagles. He finished with 55 tackles, three interceptions and 14 passes defended during the regular season, helping his team clinch the No.1 seed in the NFC.
Slay went on to add another 12 tackles and one pass breakup in the postseason as Philadelphia reached the Super Bowl. However, the Eagles fell short of the title in the big game as they suffered a narrow 38-35 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs.
Earlier in March, Slay agreed to a three-year, $42 million extension with the Eagles, with $23 million guaranteed.
