"Time to put some respect back on this man’s name" - Bill Simmons hails Daniel Jones as Giants QB's 257-yard game seals win vs Seahawks

On Sunday, the New York Giants bounced back from their narrow loss to the Dallas Cowboys in Week 4 with an upset win over the Seattle Seahawks on the road, improving to 2-3 for the season.

The visitors suffered a massive blow in the build-up to the game as standout rookie wide receiver Malik Nabers was ruled out for the trip to Seattle after failing to recover in time from the concussion he suffered in their loss to the Cowboys. Despite missing his most potent weapon on offense, quarterback Daniel Jones had a near-flawless game against an in-form team.

His gritty display earned plaudits from analyst Bill Simmons, who demanded his critics give him props for his stellar performance against the Seahawks. In a post on X, Simmons wrote:

"Daniel Dimes has been awesome in this Seattle game. It’s time to put some respect back on this man’s name! DIMES HAS RISEN."

Daniel Jones stats: QB's outstanding outing against the Seahawks

On Sunday, Daniel Jones completed 23 of 34 pass attempts for 257 yards and two touchdowns, carving up the Seahawks' secondary with relative ease. Even though the quarterback did not have Malik Nabers' services, he made full use of the weapons at his disposal in the passing game.

Three different receivers finished the game with five or more catches. Tight end Theo Johnson had his most prolific outing of the season, catching five passes for 48 yards. Wide receiver Wan'Dale Robinson was Jones' go-to player from the slot as the duo connected for six catches for 36 yards and a touchdown.

The show's star was veteran Darius Slayton, who finished the game with eight catches for 122 yards and one touchdown. Of those, 56 came on one drive as Jones and the wide receiver first connected for an incredible 26-yard sideline catch before the quarterback found him with a perfect 30-yard pass in the endzone.

It was Jones' best performance of the season by far and an encouraging sign for the Giants' coaching staff. The team will hope the quarterback can continue performing at the same level and perhaps even elevate it once Nabers recovers from his concussion.
