Titans HC Brian Callahan rubbishes claims that locker room has been "splintering" after Jaguars debacle
Coach Brian Callahan was faced with some tough questions after the Tennessee Titans lost to the team with one of the worst defenses in the league - the Jacksonville Jaguars. They managed to just rake in six points, while the Jaguars collected 10.
During a press conference on Monday, a reporter asked the Titans HC about claims that the locker room was "splintering."
Callahan responded with his take on the situation.
"They have to play well, because some of these guys are looking for new contracts, or one-year contracts. That's all part of it. So I don't have any, I don't take any issue with that. I don't look at that as splintering at all," Brian Callahan said.
He added that despite a 3-10 record, the team was sticking together and going to weather the struggling season.
"I do think one of the strengths of our team is the way they do stick together and do play for each other and do things the right way in that regard."
Brian Callahan not thinking about potentially losing his job
The Titans HC was also questioned about potentially being on the chopping block for the team's poor run so far this season. However, he said that he wasn't thinking about potentially losing his job.
"There's things that I can't control, so I don't focus on that," Callahan told reporters. "I focus on what it's going to take to build a program and build a foundation to a program that's going to allow us to have success in the future. That's my only focus and the only thing I think about."
In the past, he had said that the league was very "impatient," and instead of allowing coaches or players with a poor record the chance to correct their mistakes, they just get cut.
Brian Callahan added that he wasn't going to let the Jaguars loss discourage him or his teammates, and they were going to pick themselves up and bounce back.
The Titans will take on the Cincinnati Bengals next. Will they manage to record their fourth win of the season?
