Titans QB Will Levis issues warning for person who pranked him on Draft night - "I'll find them some day"
Will Levis' experience at the 2023 NFL draft was far from ideal. He was projected to be a top-10 pick, and some reports even indicated that the Indianapolis Colts would select him with the fourth overall pick. Unfortunately, he ended up slipping to the second round.
Due to this, the Tennessee Titans got the opportunity to draft the talented quarterback with the 33rd overall pick. In a conversation with Taylor Lewan and Will Compton on Barstool's "Bussin' With The Boys," Lewis also revealed that someone prank-called him during the draft:
"Waiting on maybe a phone call. I think at pick 29 I get a phone call from somebody, it was a prank call from somebody. Random number. I still have the number saved. I'll find them someday. They just snickered and like hung up. I literally got off the phone, I said, 'Let's go, guys.'”
Will Levis is not the only player to receive a prank call during the NFL draft. This year, Philadelphia Eagles' Cooper DeJean, who was selected in the second round, missed the team's call twice because he was prank-called at least 30 times, as per NBC Sports John Clark.
Levis was the fourth quarterback taken in the 2023 draft behind Bryce Young, C.J. Stroud and Anthony Richardson.
Will Levis is under pressure to perform in 2024
Ryan Tannehill suffered an injury last season, and it allowed Will Levis to start for the Titans. He played nine games during his rookie season and left a good impression.
Levis threw for 1,808 yards, eight touchdowns and four interceptions in those nine games with a passer rating of 84.2. He also rushed for 57 yards and a touchdown on 25 carries.
The Titans fired Mike Vrabel after last season and made former Cincinnati Bengals offensive coordinator Brian Callahan their new coach. Callahan is expected to play a major role in Levis' development as the franchise sees the 25-year-old quarterback being with them for a long time.
The Titans added the likes of Calvin Ridley, Tyler Boyd and Tony Pollard in free agency and also drafted offensive tackle JC Latham with their first-round pick this year.
Unlike last year, the AFC South franchise is surrounding the quarterback with talent, and Levis must perform well. If he struggles massively, the team might look to get a new quarterback next year.
