Tom Brady breaks silence on NFL return rumors amid special project with his kids
Tom Brady is not coming out of retirement, and he just seemed to confirm it. While there have been rumors floating around this week of his possible return this year to join the Miami Dolphins, he seems to have shot that rumor down in a comical Tweet.
Brady quote-tweeted NFL reporter Dov Kleiman, who shared the rumor. Brady tweeted that he isn't coming back:
"Anyone who thinks I have time to come back to the NFL has never adopted a 2 month old kitten for their daughter."
Brady retired shortly after the Tampa Bay Buccaneers' season ended. They fell to the Dallas Cowboys in the first round of the playoffs. With Brady set to become a free agent this offseason, there were many rumors of him possibly signing with other teams.
Brady retired on Feb. 1, posting a video on Twitter saying that he's retiring for good. Brady retired last offseason but decided to return 40 days into retirement.
Brady retired after 23 seasons and finished his career as the greatest of all time. He's the NFL's all-time passing leader in touchdowns, yards, completions and wins and has seven Super Bowl victories.
If Tom Brady were to unretire, where would he sign?
Brady's done it once, and who knows, maybe he'll unretire a second time.
While there were rumors that circled around the NFL combine this week that Brady could unretire, he seemed to have jokingly turned down those rumors with his tweet.
If he were to unretire, he would be an unrestricted free agent, allowing him to sign with any team of his choice.
Miami makes sense, because his kids live there and they have a solid team with two of the NFL's fastest wide receivers.
Brady could play one season in his home area of San Francisco with the 49ers as they may need a healthy QB to start the 2023 season.
Maybe Brady joins the Las Vegas Raiders, who have a lot of cap space and a bunch of offensive talent.
While the rumors seem to be rumors, it would be great to see Brady come back for another season in 2023 with another new team.
