Tom Brady brutally roasts Eli Manning after Giants icon takes jabs at 7x Super Bowl Champion
Tom Brady and Eli Manning are forever intertwined in the NFL's folklore. No other player in the history of the league has won as many Super Bowls as Brady, but in his long and meritorious career, he was a victim of Manning in the Super Bowl. Twice.
NFL players always keep a healthy relationship between themselves, especially in quarterback circles. Brady's greatest rival during his career was Peyton Manning, Eli's older brother. Although he was defeated multiple times in the Super Bowl, he has always maintained a great relationship with the former New York Giants quarterback.
After the legendary quarterback posted a picture capturing a fish, Eli sensed it was time to shine. On Twitter, he quoted Tom's picture to make a comparison with a fish he had captured, trolling the GOAT due to the size he was able to grab.
What Eli Manning and NFL fans were not expecting was that the GOAT would come down harsh on his response, making a clear reference to the popular Helmet Catch made by David Tyree during Super Bowl XLII:
The two have turned out to be competitors in the media landscape as well. While Eli is part of the "Manningcast" with his brother Peyton during ESPN's Monday Night Football, Brady signed a 10-year contract to become a play-by-play analyst on FOX during Sunday games.
What's Tom Brady's record against Eli Manning?
The two quarterbacks played against each other five times. Three in the regular season, where Tom holds a 2-1 record, and two in the playoffs, the aforementioned Super Bowls.
The New England Patriots and the New York Giants played in different conferences, and back in their days, the regular season still had just 16 games. This meant that, except for Super Bowl years, they played against each other just one time every four years.
It's totally different when you compare Tom to Eli's older brother, Peyton, who also played in the AFC. They played against each other 17 times, with the former Patriots superstar holding an 11-6 lead in the head-to-head against his old foe. Obviously, they never played in a Super Bowl.
